Here’s to 2017 being your most stylish year ever.

#1 Dress Better For Work

Work wardrobe kind of dull? If you've got black pants, flats and a pilled sweater on repeat it may be time to Inject a few fresh staples into your wardrobe create a better work style. Add great shift, structured blouse, and fresh accessories like statement necklaces, colorful belts or a bold watch to mix things up a bit. Invest in a few great pieces (not a lot!) and shift the way you dress for work.  As we were always taught - dress for the job you want!

#2 Up Your Weekend Style

This is one of the biggest “asks” we get here at Ready Pretty. Your weekend style is anything but stylish. And you and your yoga pants need to take a break from each other. Weekend style is easier than you think! A few great pieces - think good denim and some go to tops and you'll be feeling more put together than ever when Saturday comes along!

#3 Clean Out Your Closet

For real this time.  Look for a full blog post on this in the next few weeks. A clean closet means a clean mind and starting your day off in a disaster zone is not my way to a zen morning.  In a nutshell, head to your closet with 3 garbage bags and be relentless. One for toss, one for donate and one for keep. Treat yourself once you’ve gone through it all with matching slim-line huggable hangers like these to make your closet feel a bit more pulled together. Trust us, there are few better ways to start and end your day than with an organized and edited closet. Need help?  You’re welcome.

#4 Shop Smarter

Rule of thumb. Wait 24 hours. Seriously. Fast fashion isn’t good for your bank account or closet.  And an edited wardrobe is the best wardrobe, so really consider what you need versus what you want in the moment.  Invest in quality over quantity and you’ll always be in style. We’re not saying you have to spend a lot on just a few key peices - instead, we mean consider how often you’ll wear it, what you’ll wear it with and how you can re-create it into several different looks. Of course, every now and then there is that “ah-mazing, I have to have this and probably will only wear it a handful of times” piece - and we get it.  Just make that that is more of the exception than the norm.

Rule of thumb. Wait 24 hours. Seriously. Fast fashion isn’t good for your bank account or closet.

#5 Plan It Out

This one's a game changer. Every night before I go to sleep, I plan out my outfit for the next day. In full honesty, I do it while I’m brushing my teeth. But as many of you can relate, with a two year old, a dog and husband ready to rock at the crack of dawn every day, I have zero time to consider what the heck I’m wearing in the mornings. This little tip ensures I’ve got a great look pulled together and one less thing to do the next day. Try it. Trust me.

#6 Add More Color

I love neutrals just as much as the next person, but this year, trying adding some fresh hues into your wardrobe. Afraid to go big with color? No worries. Maybe it’s just one signature hue like a dusty pink or a deep wine hue. Bring it in in subtle ways to add visual interest to basic black.  Who knows. It might just become your thing. For those of you more inclined to add a bit of vibrancy, play with fresh colors patterns - experiment to find what works for you. Ask your stylist if you're having trouble with this one!

#7 DIY Something, and Love it

Got an old pair of jeans that are past their prime?  Take a pair of shears to them and try your hand at the cropped jeans look.  Worst thing that happens, you get rid of an ill-fitting pair of jeans in your closet and free up some space. Best thing? You gain a fresh pair of denim that are totally on trend right now. For all you brave/crafty ladies out there, this one’s for you.
