Some times you gotta shake things up. And shake things up we did. When Chicago photographer Brissa of Breeze Art Creatives came to us asking to fully revamp her style, we got super excited. After struggling with years of trying to uncover her own unique style and an admitted "tomboy", she wanted to embrace a more feminine style that better showcased her personality and fashion aspirations. In addition, as an up-and-coming photographer in Chicago, she wanted a wardrobe that was a bit more polished than her usual denim and tee uniform so she could better present in front of potential clients.
Not only has Brissa helped our team at Ready Pretty with some amazing photography for our blog and social, but she's become a good friend. See why she decided it was time for Ready Pretty, her favorite picks form her stylist, and who she's choosing between Aiden or Big!
What do you do?
I do a lot of things that nourish me. I integrate work and play. I am a human connector. I love connecting people through my photography and tell stories that capture the bliss of the moment.
What’s your style? Casual
Why did you try Ready Pretty and how has it helped?
Growing up with three brothers, feeling like a tomboy, four years of being happily divorced and still I didn’t know what it meant to be a woman. I knew that I needed some help. Then, three years ago I did a women’s retreat in Wisconsin, and I finally understood what womanhood means. For the first time in my life, I felt so proud to be a woman. I felt divine and exquisite.
Since then I’ve been working on bringing more of my inner femininity to the outside. Last year, when I met Jeannine, I felt the urge to trust her to build the style that would reflect my core values as a woman, as a creative artist, as an entrepreneur. I wanted my outward style to reflect the fun, creative, professional woman I am, and I knew Jeannine would help me achieve that.
It was an ‘Aha!’ moment for me. I loved the experience of seeing and wearing different styles that I couldn’t imagine wearing in the past. And me in heels? Never before! Plus, this was the first time in my photography career that I’ve been in front of the camera.
Ready Pretty has opened a lot of possibilities for me as I continue choosing those fashionable styles that reflect my true, authentic-self wherever I am. What I hadn’t done in many years I am doing right now, and I love it!
