WELCOME TO THE RP TEAM AMANDA!
Tell us a little bit about yourself?
Hi everyone! My name is Amanda and I am originally from Detroit, MI, but I have lived in Chicago for 8 years now. I love this city and always knew I wanted to live here, so when the opportunity for me to move here came up after college, I didn't have to think twice. Today, I live in the West Loop with my husband, two kitties and pomsky puppy. We have a full house to say the least! These days I work in Purchasing for a small distributor, but I have always loved fashion. I even graduated with my degree in it from Western Michigan University and worked in buying for four years.
Describe your style?
I would describe my style as classic with a twist. I love classic, clean lines, but I am also drawn to some trendy items from time to time like ruffles, lace, etc. My style is simple and I always have to be comfortable. I also love to play around with makeup and new beauty products. A red lip can totally change up your whole outfit! I'm also a shoe girl and almost always plan my outfits first around what shoes I want to wear for the day.
What's one of your favorite pieces in your wardrobe?
This is a hard one! But I would have to say a white v-neck t-shirt. Sounds boring, but I live in mine (the best ones are from Madewell)! You can dress them up with a bold lip, blazer and heels or dress it down with leggings and a sweater. I wear mine all the time!
Why did you want to be a Ready Pretty stylist?
I no longer work in the fashion world, but it truly is my passion. I love to shop and pull outfits together. And it's a plus to work with other like minded women who share the same passions!
Spring is around the corner! Tell us, what's one of your favorite upcoming Spring trends?
I'm not really into trends and right now I'm really concentrating on building up my basic wardrobe so I can mix and match a lot easier. But I am super excited for all the spring colors that I am seeing. Everything that's in my shopping cart right now is blush pink, so I'm excited to add this color into my wardrobe for spring!
What advice do you have for women trying to find their own personal style?
Figure out what you are most comfortable in and the silhouettes you like to wear the most. If people give you a ton of compliments every time you where a certain silhouette, listen to them! That is what you look best in. But you also have to be comfortable in what you wear. If people tell you, you look great in v-necks but you don't feel comfortable in them- don't wear them. Your confidence exudes in what you wear and how you present yourself.
